Related 5 Comments Michelle on July 17, 2015 at 4:55 am Hi Melissa, I hope you don’t mind me contacting you again. I just wanted to ask you a question regarding my Wave account. I’ve noticed on the transaction page, if I have an Etsy sale, there is an entry that says ‘Etsy sale to ???? and the amount, but there is also the entry from Etsy that is called ‘WORLDPAY AP Ltd’. This is the fund that is sent to your bank account from your direct payment account, for when someone pays with a debit or credit card. How would categorise it, would I mark both transactions as a sale and is this a double entry, I hope you can help, I am a little confused. I look forward to hearing from you. Regards Michelle Reply Melissa Whaley on July 17, 2015 at 10:28 am Hi michelle! This is a VERY common problem when you have both your Etsy shop and Bank account syncing with Wave. I actually created a special tutorial addressing this duplicate entry problem. Here’s the video> Reply MIchelle on July 21, 2015 at 3:30 am Hi Melissa, Thank you for getting back to me. I will watch this video, your videos are brilliant. You are a star, thank you for taking the time to make them, I really appreciate you helping to make bookkeeping not such a scary part of our business. Many thanks Michelle Reply Lisa Newton on January 27, 2019 at 3:23 pm HI Michelle – Can I use Wave without linking my bank? I use Quickbooks but I just want to see if Wave will help me figure my actual income and expenses with Etsy’s new finance payment system. I did it manually for 2018 that last few months because the is the only way to figure it. Do you think it will help me figure my income and also shipping income, taxes, transaction fees, etc. I could make journal entries in to Quickbooks monthly. Thank you for your help. Reply Melissa Whaley on January 30, 2019 at 9:00 pm Hi Lisa, Wave is a good alternative to Quickbooks, but if you’re not linking your bank account then it won’t save you any time or effort. A LOT has changed with Wave and Etsy since I created this video so I’m less helpful in that realm these days. I would highly recommend my friend Sarah Korhnak and Etsy bookkeeping information https://www.smallbusinesssarah.com/etsy-sellers-start/ Reply Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
